Notes & Combos

**This is the list that got me to Masters 1. **

The basics of this deck is to go into Phantom, Apollo (2-3), and Rage with Escape. Together, this is 3-4 monster negates, 1 pop, 1 eat (Rage), 1 banish (SP), and 1 banish tag out (SP).

Your combo will usually have Spirit of yubel being popped by Pain to get Squirmer, which usually leads to full combo.

Major important points:

  • This deck has a lot of 1 card combos with Lotus and Throne. If you are able to create an early Phantom to protect against Maxx C, do so. If you don't have the hand to do that, play as normal.
  • Make sure that you play around Gamma, Imperm, and Nibiru. If you draw gate with other extenders and starters, always bait gate first. This signal Maxx C and ash. Sometimes getting an extra DBB will help you make an early Phantom to negate Maxx C.
  • Going 2nd, you can either go for Yubel for Reverse OTK (make sure you count how many you can do). Usually while Reverse OTKing, you can kill under Maxx C. If you cannot kill this way, you make Chaos Angel and Accesscode.
  • Throne is a +1 to your usual combo and sets up early Phantom. As long as you have DBB/Gate or Squirmer or Pain, you can destroy Spirit instead of adding Lotus. This extra body can be used for Phantom.
  • Almaraj helps you threaten SP and it helps you get around being impermed on DBB, setting up Gate.
  • Popping Rage allows you to add back a DBB.
  • If you have enough gas, you can play without cross-sheep to play over Nibiru if you've already used Phantom that turn.
  • Play through interuptions with extenders rather than wasting Phantom on the first handtrap. Save Phantom for Maxx C/Nibiru or any handtrap that completely stop ur combo.

My Extra Deck:

I play Unicorn & Anguish. Sometimes, I'm required to play SP early to bait interaction. Anguish beats other Yubel decks through non-destruction removal. (Yubel is REALLY popular atm. Might be changed later.)

This list has a 50%+ of drawing 2-3 handtrap/droplets.

Thoughts on the other cards:

  • Super poly is incredibly Mid atm. Doesn't do enough for a 2 card interaction that needs set-up to steal the entire field. Bad board breaker in Yubel. Phantom can't be used for Fusion material. Yubel mirrors are common, so not very helpful here.
  • Eternal Favorite is also mid because it bricks. Doesn't do enough since it specifically requires Yubel OG to Super poly.
  • Grpyhon Lines. (Judeu Build) I don't like the build because it has 2 extra bricks compared to this list.
