Notes & Combos
Since this is my first submitted deck, I'd just like to introduce myself. I'm Snom on a Bench. I'm just your average 18 y/o broke college student/Yu-Gi-Oh player. I first started playing in June 2019 and really got into the game playing online during Covid. I'm looking to get into playing in-person soon. Don't be fooled by the fact that this is my first deck submitted, I'm not usually a Tenpai player, it was just the deck I chose to climb with this time. I'm primarily a D/D/D, Marincess, Salamangreat and Vanquish Soul player, but I'm open to playing almost anything as long as it's not Drytron. I'm hoping to become more active in the community aside from just playing the game and commenting on MDM here.
I haven't played on my Tenpai account since release, so I was starting from Rookie. I was originally gonna stop at Diamond cause I'm not someone who climbs every month (in fact, this is only my 4th time getting to Master), but was having some good momentum, so continued. I say it went fairly well, especially considering I've been preoccupied with college and didn't play all that much.
As for my decklist, I did consider playing the Sky Striker or Fiendsmith variants, but stuck with the classics. I was originally playing Purulia, but it wasn't very good, so I cut it in exchange for the Veilers in D3 and lost only a few games afterwards. I also found myself bricking on the 2nd Fadra a bit, but kept it in cause I personally feel safer playing the second one. I also didn't see more than 5 Yubel decks the entire time, so Samurai Destroyer didn't come up that much, but was great when it did. I also didn't summon Kuibelt or Black Rose at all, so replace them if you feel like. Those are probably the most cuttable cards.
The superstars of the deck were Droplet, great for negating multiple cards at once especially when you pair it with another board breaker to send from field, and I did find myself sending almost my entire hand a couple times, Droll since people are playing several engines in their decks (Kashtira, Fiendsmith, Azamina, etc.) alongisde the main one, so some decks just get eaten alive by it, and Talent, either checking my opponent's hand for hand traps to make the OTK push more secure, or stealing one of their cards to help in breaking the board.
No replays either cause it's Tenpai. Just go second, break the board, deal 8k, rinse and repeat.
Have a great day everyone!
